Metanephrops ist eine Hummergattung , die allgemein als Scampi bekannt ist . Wichtige Arten für die Fischerei sind Metanephrops australiensis (australische Scampi) und Metanephrops Challengeri (neuseeländische Scampi). Es unterscheidet von anderen Hummern wie Homarus und Nephrops norvegicus , dass seine beiden Haupt Klauen sind gleich groß, anstatt in eine differenzierte Brechers und einer Entranker .
